Maintenance Control

Reduce unplanned downtime and maximize production output with preventative maintenance

Outcomes:

  • - Maximizes equipment OEE
  • - Increases quality and productivity
  • - Eliminates rework
  • - Reduces line downtime related to unplanned maintenance interventions

Maintenance Control

The production output of a manufacturing line is greatly affected by unplanned machine downtime and rework, caused by machines and tooling that are not calibrated properly.

Monitoring and maintaining the assets on the manufacturing floor at their optimal running potential is essential for maximizing output and keeping production costs to a minimum.

Cogiscan’s Maintenance Control monitors the maintenance status of production assets and provides warnings and alarms when they are due for maintenance. When an asset requires maintenance, the system displays the work type and work description that needs to be accomplished along with a link to a reference instruction manual.

By encouraging preventative maintenance, the solution keeps production assets running at their full potential while avoiding unplanned machine downtime.

Depending on the asset type (machine, feeder, tooling, etc), the maintenance status is triggered by a time interval, a number of cycles, or a performance metric (for example, miss-pick ratio for feeders). Visual warnings and alarms provide the maintenance status to operators and optionally, the production line can be stopped to force maintenance interventions. Maintenance reports can be generated to display the status or maintenance history of an asset.

Users can also proactively prepare for maintenance by using a search tool that displays assets requiring imminent maintenance.
