In order to maintain a smooth and efficient manufacturing line, it is critical to make sure that the right materials are ordered and available at the right time. But, it’s not as easy as ordering and stocking more than enough materials. Costs have to be considered. That’s why it’s important to know exactly how many of each component is available, and where those materials are in the factory at any given time.

The Cogiscan Systems Integration software enables the collection of material consumption data from placement machines throughout the factory. Using a CAMX Message Broker to provide uniformity in the data collection process, inventory data can be collected from any brand or model of machine, and synchronized with the ERP system.

This integration enables real-time counts of the remaining quantity of materials in reels, trays or tubes, taking account of used materials, and materials that have been rejected by machines (miss-picks, for example). This real-time consumption and remaining quantity tracking is a key feature in enabling accurate accounting of material consumption and optimized warehouse inventory management.
